Omar's my favorite, too!

A little while back, Obama told the Las Vegas Sun that his fav show is The Wire, and his favorite character, Omar Little.

“That’s not an endorsement. He’s not my favorite person, but he’s a fascinating character,” explained our next Prez.

TMT finally got around to watching the hit show that everyone with taste we trust goes ga ga over. And we're hooked. So many bad guys to like, so many good guys to distrust. So much drunken surveillance by "Good Police." It's hard to pick a favorite character, but I did and I'm lockstep with Barack. My coeditor, AP, digs Lestor Freamon, the man with the complicated past and a love of mini furniture. Leave it to AP to choose the only honorable man in Baltimore.

Who are your favs, readers? And keep in mind, we are still in Season 1. You can say someone from future episodes, someone for us to excitedly meet, but please, no spoilers.

  1. you're askin for a severely long-winded comment here.

Bubz is my all-time fave, but in future seasons, look for: Ziggy Sobatka (he shows his wiener like 8 times!); Randy Wagstaff; and you have probably already met the adorable and incompetent Pryzbylewski. Plus 23 others.

  2. I was just reading an interview about how the blog Stuff White People like got started and the creator said he was talking to his friend about The Wire and 'Myles, who is Filipino, said he didn't trust any white person who didn't watch the show and from there we started talking about what white people were doing instead of watching the show."

  3. The list of life's greatest moments:

    1. Watching The Wire
    2. Being born
    3. Re-watching The Wire

So many juicy characters to pick from, but I think I'll go with the man who I consider to be the most complex of them all (no small feat):

Russell "Stringer" Bell. A classy, intelligent, ruthless, drug-dealing genius. What a great character.

The "What The F*** Did I Do?" McNulty Runner-Up Award goes to: Bodie Broadus.
