Lie Count - Everyone is full of shit

It's widely known that our two presidential candidates are liars. Now there's a convenient web site that keeps track of their lies. I would have to argue that there are far more lies told by each than just the ones counted here, but it's a good start. It gets the big ones and provides a fair amount of proof that they are in fact lies. So far McCain is winning. He does have the natural advantage in this contest though. He's a Republican.

  1. there has to be a difference between lying and being wrong. so in this debate both candidates made false claims, but does that make them liars? if you are taking a test and write down the wrong answer, does that make you a liar or does that mean you didn't study hard enough? debating is hard enough as it is so i think that it is unfair to say that mistakes, misquotes, etc are LIES. now if candidates continue to intentionally state falsehoods, then they can be labeled a "liar"

  2. What both candidates do: employ Logical Fallacies (most often- "Straw Man" or "Slippery Slope"). Since the word fallacy derives from the Latin word for deception, I don't think AP was too far off in calling them out on their intentional bullshit. And saying that it has an odor akin to what: a motherfuckin lie.

  3. Oh believe you me I understand the tactics employed by any political hopeful. I was just trying to find the good side of human nature.
