A note to our vegetarian brothers and sisters

A month ago, my vegetarian coworkers were shocked to find that I am not taking supplements. Apparently this is something they have done since day 1. Then, yesterday, I went to the doctor and he lambasted me. You are not taking a B-12?!

Nope.

I went home with my tail between my legs, and immediately looked up this B-12 guy, so elusive to me and my vege-husband. What I found wasn't good. A deficiency could make us impotent, sore-tongued depressives with nerve damage. While older sources say us lacto-ovo vegetarians (we eat eggs and dairy) should be better off than our vegan (no nothin) brothers, a recent Harvard Health Letter argues that, "Even vegetarians who eat eggs and dairy products consume, on average, less than half the adult Recommended Dietary Allowance of 2.4 mcg of B12."

So, Too Much Teeth is going to see a dietitian. We think maybe you guys should too. Love your bodies, people. Love them all night long.

  2. Get the B-12 dissolving tabs...you just put this little tab under your tongue and it dissolves. Like acid without the trip.

AND I cannot believe you haven't been taking B-12!
