MAD Hookers

This morning on Today, Meredith interviewed the lovable lunatic, Jim Cramer of CNBC’s Mad Money, about our fledgling economy. You will be happy to know that Cramer is optimistic that we’ve hit bottom (good because our decline seemed infinite and without endpoint). This is why he’s hopeful.

And this is why, one second later, he was near tears:

Douchey Meredith Viera asked Cramer for his reaction to the hooker-scandal that surrounds his close personal friend, NY Gov Elliot Spitzer. Apparently the two were classmates at Harvard Business School, and have been bros ever since. Cramer explained that Elliot has always been a hated figure, but that now he, Cramer, couldn’t tell people to shut up because “Elliot screwed up.”

Jim did everything he could to keep from weeping. Seriously, his voice cracked more than a pubescent boy’s and the complete shift in emotion, from his usual intense excitement to undeniable desperation was shocking.

“He’s a great guy, and I love him, and I really love his wife,” Cramer said. “It’s just very sad. It’s very sad.”

TMT doesn’t like to see people cry so we finally changed the channel. When we came back 5 min later, Mer was still at it, prodding away at Jim. “You’re a close personal friend of Mrs. Spitzer, Silda Wall…” Crack crack crack. At one point he stopped talking and just sat quietly staring at nothing at all.

TMT knows that most of Cramer’s audience is aware he’s emotional, it’s his calling card. But MAD emotion is certainly more acceptable to his testicle-clad stock-loving viewers than the near-tears he displayed on Today. We hope that there is no backlash. We kind of love him more.

  1. While we're on the subject, I know I'm not the first to take issue with this...but Dr. Laura - WHAT THE FUCK?!

“When the wife does not focus in on the needs and the feelings, sexually, personally, to make him feel like a man, to make him feel like a success, to make him feel like her hero, he’s very susceptible to the charm of some other woman making him feel what he needs."

“I hold women responsible for tossing out perfectly good men by not treating them with the love and kindness and respect and attention they need.”

    Right.
